A new Resident Evil series landed on Netflix and it's getting plenty of attention. The show takes place years after a viral outbreak caused a global apocalypse and Jade Wesker vows to bring down those responsible while fighting to survive against the Infected.
Admittedly, titles based on video games can be hit or miss, but they always make for great escapist entertainment. We've rounded up some here for you to check out if you've already ticked Resident Evil off your Netflix watchlist.
Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001)
Archaeologist and explorer extraordinaire Lara Croft journeys to a temple sunken underwater that leads to a sphere that contains the mythical Pandora's Box, only to have it stolen from her by Chen Lo, the leader of a crime syndicate who's in league with a villain named Reiss who wants to use the Box as a doomsday weapon. Facing her greatest challenges yet, the intrepid tomb raider pursues Lo to get her hands back on Pandora's Box and fulfill the desire of the Queen.

Pokémon: Detective Pikachu (2019)
The first-ever live-action Pokémon movie, it stars Ryan Reynolds as the titular character. It finds Pikachu teaming up with Tim as they try to solve the mystery of Tim's father's disappearance, who also previously partnered with the Pokémon.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (2010)
A young fugitive prince and princess must stop a villain who unknowingly threatens to destroy the world with a special dagger that enables the magic sand inside to reverse time.

Halo (2022)
Dramatising an epic 26th-century conflict between humanity and an alien threat known as the Covenant, this show focuses on the mysterious protagonist from the video games, Master Chief.

Assassin's Creed (2016)
Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard star in this action-adventure film based on the critically acclaimed video game franchise. Through a technology that unlocks his memories, Callum (Fassbender) discovers he is a descendant of an ancient line of Assassins and amasses lethal skills to take on the oppressive Templar Order.
