Victoria VR is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) that integrates the use of virtual reality technology. Marketed as a place where “imagination is the only limitation”, the virtual reality world connects games, virtual experiences, and decentralised applications (dApps) in a persistent and shared realm on the Ethereum blockchain. By combining all of these aspects the project hopes to create a complete metaverse ecosystem where, one day, users may work, rest, learn and eventually live.
According to the Victoria VR’s whitepaper, the metaverse is one of the first to be built using Realistic Graphics on Unreal Engine - one of the best gaming engines currently available. By integrating this technology, Victoria VR hopes to bring virtual reality to the metaverse industry, which is not often used by other metaverse-based projects. The games incorporated within the virtual reality world will include play-to-earn (P2E) mechanics and NFTs. In addition to in-game rewards, the entire metaverse ecosystem will be managed by a decentralised autonomous organization (DAO), which makes the entire platform a self-sustaining economy jointly created and owned by its users.
VR GAS, or VR, is the protocol’s native cryptocurrency token and serves as the primary currency of the Victoria VR metaverse. It is also required by all those that wish to join the DAO. VR can be used to participate in development decision-making, pay for advertising in the metaverse, and buy virtual accessories, such as land, items, resources, and properties. Furthermore, users can stake the VR token to receive rewards, access to airdrops, and exclusive access to events.
