Velocity extends credit card rewards bonus points offer
Get up to 30% bonus Velocity Points when you exchange your credit card reward points this week.
Last month, Velocity rewarded its cardholders with up to 30% bonus Velocity Points when they moved points from partnered hotel, retail and credit card rewards programs to their frequent flyer account. Dubbed the World’s Biggest Points Exchange Expo, it was only supposed to run until 30 November 2017. However, Velocity has kicked off December with a slightly revamped version of the promo with a select group of credit card issuers.
If you transfer your credit card rewards to your Velocity account by 10 December 2017, you could score between 15% and 30% bonus frequent flyer points. This time around, the bonus points are tiered based on the number of Velocity Points you’d usually receive.
There are different exchange rates depending on where you’re transferring your points from, so that’s why the bonus points vary depending on the number of Velocity Points you’ll receive rather than the number of credit card reward points you’re transferring.
|Transfer amount||Number of bonus points|
|1 to 50,000 Velocity Points||15% bonus points|
|50,001 to 100,000 Velocity Points||20% bonus points|
|100,001 to 250,000 Velocity Points||25% bonus points|
|250,000+ Velocity Points||30% bonus points|
You can take advantage of the bonus points offer if you’re transferring credit card rewards from the following partnered card issuers:
- American Express
- ANZ Rewards and ANZ Business Rewards
- Bank of Queensland
- Diners Club
You can exchange your credit card rewards for Velocity Points by visiting your card issuer’s website and following the prompts to transfer your rewards.
If you missed out on last month’s Points Exchange Expo or if you’ve picked up some more Velocity Points since then, now might be the right time to transfer your credit card rewards if you want to give your frequent flyer balance a boost. This could prove especially beneficial considering some of the less than competitive exchange rates you’ll find when transferring credit card rewards to Velocity Frequent Flyer Points.
For example, you can exchange ANZ Rewards in multiples of 3,000 for 1,500 Velocity Points (in other words, an exchange rate of 2:1). If you transferred 60,000 ANZ Rewards, you’d usually get 30,000 Velocity Points. But during this promotional period, you’ll get 39,000 Velocity Points thanks to the 15% bonus points boost.
You can compare some of these exchange rates in our guide on how to transfer credit card reward points to Velocity Points.
