VEJA The Urca: Where to buy the new vegan sneaker

Made from corn waste leather, this is everything you need to know about the latest vegan and sustainable update to the VEJA brand.
If you're into buying sustainable shoes, then you'll know about VEJA. The brand already carries a few different vegan sneaker styles (alongside your standard leather options), but you need to check out the latest update.
Introducing The Urca from VEJA – it's the vegan edition of the classic V-12 silhouette that we all know and love.
Release date: 10 August. We can't confirm that the sneaker will hit stockists on this date, so watch this space for more information!
Where to buy: The most obvious place to shop is the VEJA store. However, the brand is also stocked at tons of different stockists like THE ICONIC, HYPE DC, Biome and NET-A-PORTER.
So... why should you buy it?
The Urca is created with vegan Corn Waste Leather (C.W.L.). The bio-source material is a great eco-friendly textile alternative, made from a waxed canvas derived from 50% corn waste eliminated from the food industry.
The unique material feels like leather, but it's not, and it's completely biodegradable. We also love that VEJA decided to use 100% white cotton laces. Not only does it look good, but it rounds off this sustainable sneaker beautifully.
In terms of design, the shoe maintains the brand's beloved white shape, making it super easy to slide into your everyday wardrobe. However, The Urca is decorated with colour on both the ankle tab and the "V" logo. It arrives in six different colourways, with both colourful and minimal options available. Good luck choosing your favourite one!
