Ethical sneaker brand, VEJA is releasing a range in collaboration with luxury French designer, Christophe Lemaire. The collection of sleek and minimalist sneakers for men dropped today.

If you haven't already heard of VEJA, listen up. This sneaker brand with a conscience uses innovation to create shoes that are sleek and simple but aren't trashing our environment. VEJA shoes are made differently using organic, agroecological and fair-trade cotton to make canvas that the shoes are crafted from. VEJA also uses recycled plastic bottles to create technical mesh and it utilises wild rubber from the Amazonian forest for the sneaker soles.

This collaboration unites the cool of Lemaire but still holds onto the ethical and sustainable practices that are at the heart of the VEJA brand. There are two styles: a lace-free aqua shoe and a boot-like high-top style.

Designer, Christophe Lemaire and VEJA co-founder, Sébastien Kopp were sitting together at a Greenpeace dinner when the idea for this exclusive collaboration was conceived. Together they developed an idea for a sneaker without laces that shapes into a 3D-knitted recycled plastic aquashoe. The second style drew inspiration from vintage Italian styling and is modelled on a classic army shoe. Though entirely different, both shoes cleverly merge together the unique aspects of both brands to create something entirely new, and rather exciting for sneaker fans everywhere.

It's undeniable that statement sneakers are one of the number one trends of the moment, so this sustainable designer collaboration is sure to be a global hit.
