The Nightmare Before Christmas x Vans Christmas Town collection: First look
What's this? What's this? There's festive sneakers everywhere (and we know just where you can get your hands on a pair!)
Weighing in on the argument "is The Nightmare Before Christmas a Halloween or a Christmas movie?", streetwear brand Vans has given us a definitive answer: it's both. Having already released a spooky Halloween collaboration inspired by Jack Skellington and friends, Vans has teamed up with Disney once again for a festive collection that you're going to want to add to your Christmas wishlist immediately.
Release date: 22 November (US)
Titled Christmas Town, the second collaboration takes on the popular Vans Sk8-Hi silhouette and gives it a Tim Burton-esque twist. The kicks feature iconic moments from Jack's discovery of Christmas Town, showing him marvelling at Christmas lights on the left lateral side and discovering a snowman on the right lateral side.
Both highly detailed images are printed on a navy canvas base, while a Christmas tree graphic sits on a black canvas base at the heels. The design is finished off with a red toebox, gold metal eyelets, red foxing stripe around the midsole and a red and black checkered print on the laces.
Similar to the first collection, the Christmas Town line is available in both adults and kids sizes, making it easy to match your mini-me this Christmas. While the Halloween collection saw an extensive range of sneakers, apparel and accessories, the Sk8-His appear to be the only item up for grabs in the Christmas line, though we're hoping to see more products added soon.
The Christmas Town line is available now from UK retailer size? It is also available on the Vans US store, meaning that you'll have to use a third party shipping service like Australia Post's ShopMate if you want to get your hands on it.
Hopefully we will eventually see the line drop on the Australian Vans site too though, as well as in usual stockists like Platypus Shoes, ASOS and THE ICONIC. While there's no news yet on whether this will happen, the Halloween line was made available here in Australia, so keep your fingers crossed.
In other sneaker news, Nike has teamed up with Korean fashion label PEACEMINUSONE for an artistic take on the classic Air Force 1 silhouette. The Nike brand has also revealed a second Evolution of the Swoosh collection in collaboration with Foot Locker that will see four sneaker drops celebrating the iconic Swoosh logo.
