Why you’re going to want to add the Vans new Patchwork collection to your wardrobe
Take your closet from gloom to va-va-voom with this colourful line of kicks.
I'll be the first to admit that my wardrobe could benefit from a small splash of colour. Whilst neutrals are classic and go with everything (and nothing will ever be the new black), some bright and cheerful colours can really make an outfit pop. No stranger to fun shades, iconic streetwear shoe brand Vans is back with some rainbow designs to help kick your boring ensembles to the curb.
The new spring Patchwork collection draws inspiration from the 70s with some truly retro designs. The brand has taken three original models – the Classic Slip-Ons, the Eras and the cult-favourite Sk8-His – and reimagined them in a kaleidoscope of colours that are bound to put a smile on your face and a spring in your step.
While staying true to the silhouettes of the original models, the Patchwork sneakers now sport mismatched canvas, leather and suede panels and visible stitching. To further contrast the designs, both the left and right shoes offer distinctly different detailing. Classic white laces on the Era and Sk8-Hi designs round out the playful look with a fresh feel.

You don't have to break out the hammer pants to go with these babies (although if you really want to, you can – you do you). Throw on a pair of these vibrant sneakers with a casual black dress for streetwear vibes with just the right amount of colour. Alternatively, lace them up to give your denim jeans or shorts a shot of colour that's bound to get you some attention.
If you'd rather make a statement with your clothing than your shoes, Vans has also released a Patchwork jumper as part of the collection. Team it with some black jeans and neutral Vans Eras for a cosy, yet fun combination.
When can you shop the collection?
The Patchwork line has just dropped, meaning you can shop it right now exclusively from Vans. Unfortunately, the new collection is not yet on the Australian site but we can expect to see it on there soon as well as on usual stockist sites like THE ICONIC and Platypus Shoes.
In the meantime, you can get your Vans kicks (no pun intended) by shopping its other recent lines including the killer Lunar New Year collaboration with Purlicue and the festive-style Holiday collection.
