When you purchase Valentine’s Day gifts online, you need to know the delivery times of different retailers so you know your order will turn up in time for the big day. If you choose a store that won't deliver your purchases according to schedule, your well thought out gift might be late. There's nothing worse that having to explain to your partner that you did in fact get them a present, it's just not here yet...

Finding delivery/shipping information

1. Look for information on the retailer’s website: The shipping information on a retailer's website can usually be found by scrolling to the bottom of the page. There you should find a link to the shipping/delivery information. If you can't find it there, use the search bar. Search for shipping/delivery and the information should appear.

2. Contact the customer service department: Online retailers usually have supportive and friendly customer service departments that are always ready to help customers have a hassle-free shopping experience. If you need to get the exact delivery time of your order, get in touch with the customer service department of your preferred online retailer and you will receive a prompt response. Customer service personnel will also be able to explain to you if they are currently experiencing peak service demand or other issues that may prevent your order from arriving in time. The contact details are usually available on the retailer’s site. You may reach them through phone, email, live chat or other means as applicable.

3. How far is the retailer situated from you?: You can search for the warehouse address of your preferred retailer to see how close it is to you. If you know this information, you can determine how long it will take for your order to arrive. For example, if you are located in a surrounding suburb, your purchases may be delivered the same day. You may have. to wait for an extended period for your order to be delivered if you live in remote parts of the country.

4. Always read the fine print of delivery times: When retailer's list the delivery times on their websites, those are often delivery estimates for metropolitan areas. If you live in a rural area or a remote area, always double check the shipping policy before ordering. Some stores that are famous for next delivery take up to 12 days to deliver to regional parts of Western Australia, Northern Territory and Northern parts of Queensland.
