USA flights from $949 return with Qantas

Qantas has launched a flash, eight-hour sale on flights to the US with fares down to $949 return. For this price, you can fly out of Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney to Los Angeles, San Francisco or Dallas.
Fares to New York start from $1,198 on journeys out of Sydney or Melbourne.
Available travel dates are between January and June 2018, excluding peak holiday periods.
While Qantas has been known to drop the dollars on US flights below $1,000, it's a very rare event. In fact, the last time the flying kangaroo flew this low was in June when it was offering flights to Los Angeles for $917 return.
With flights to three other cities and dates bordering the American summer, we think it's fair to say that shelling out the extra couple of dollars here might just be worth it.
Qantas is offering flights at the prices mentioned above, but we found I Want That Flight shaving off the dollars substantially. It's showing return flights to Los Angeles from $869 on trips from Melbourne with Brisbane and Sydney flights not too far behind starting from $870 and $871 return.
I Want That Flight is also featuring flights to San Francisco from $857 return and to New York from $1,017 return. Though these flights aren't with Qantas.
Either way, the clock is ticking and these Qantas fares are only on sale until midnight tonight (12 October). That is, unless seats sell out prior.
