What’s in the Uniqlo x Sailor Moon collection?
In the name of the Moon, we officially declare this line the most adorable of the year.
Popular Japanese retailer Uniqlo is currently on a roll when it comes to releasing collections worthy of major hype. In between dropping a super cool Pokémon-inspired collection and getting ready to release a line inspired by Korean boy band BTS, the label has also now announced a collaborative capsule with cult-favourite anime series Sailor Moon.
Japanese news site SoraNews24 has given us a first look at the new line, which features a range of tees that will have you fighting evil by moonlight and winning love by daylight. Each tee naturally features our favourite superheroine herself, alongside other notable characters from the show.
From a totally girl-powered t-shirt displaying the whole Inner Sailor Senshi team to a romantic black and white edition featuring Princess Serenity and Prince Endymion in a lover's embrace, there are plenty of great options up for grabs.
The debut of the collaboration comes after the announcement that creator Naoko Takeuchi's original Sailor Moon manga is soon to be released for the first time in a digital format. It also coincides with the news that two new Sailor Moon films are currently in the works.
The two-part animated movie titled Sailor Moon Eternal is rumoured to have ties to the original 90s show. The film is scheduled for release in 2020, so start binge-watching all your favourite episodes again now.
When can you shop the Sailor Moon collection?
While Uniqlo is yet to announce an exact release date for the t-shirt line, the Japanese version of the site has promised that it's coming in late August. The line will be available for sale in 26 countries, meaning that it's highly likely that we will see them appear on the Australian site. In even better news, each tee is set to retail for just US$14, making it super easy to stock up on several pieces from the limited-edition line.
