What’s in Uniqlo’s UTGP 2019 Pokémon collection?
This year's designs have officially been released and you're gonna want 'em all.
Every year, Japanese fashion retailer Uniqlo holds its UT Grand Prix t-shirt design competition, which sees a bunch of winning designs released for purchase around the world. This year, the theme was cult-favourite video game series Pokémon and the designs are EPIC.
From a whopping 18,000 entries, 24 designs have been released for the line. There was some controversy after the Grand Prize Winner was disqualified and had his design removed, but there are still plenty of wicked tees to go around. The one downside is that some of the tees are only available in certain sizing (e.g. women's or children's).
The designs span all of your favourite pocket monsters including Pikachu, Jigglypuff and Eevee. They also feature some really cool ideas, like runner-up Mizukilobyte's Unown eye test tee. The white tee features a bunch of the psychic Pokémon hidden between other symbols and is available in men's sizing only.
There are also some cuter designs on offer, like this navy blue tee featuring a Jigglypuff looking like it's ready to battle you in the ultimate round of karaoke.
When and where can you shop the collection?
The latest UTGP line was officially released yesterday on the Uniqlo site, meaning that the tees are already available to shop. With adults' tees retailing for a mere $19.90 and kids' tees going for just $14.90, you're not going to want to be a slowpoke about getting your hands on one. Men's and women's sizes are available in XS-XXL, while the kids' designs are available for little ones aged 3-13.
If you're looking for some other awesome tees to fill your wardrobe with, Uniqlo has also just announced a t-shirt line featuring animated characters designed by K-Pop boy band BTS. The adorable unisex line features 13 different designs and is set to drop on the Australian Uniqlo site on 11 July.
