The Unifi Protocol is described on its website as “a group of non-custodial, interoperable smart contracts linking multiple blockchains together into one large DeFi marketplace”. The first product built on the protocol is uTrade, an automated market maker and trading platform. The protocol is designed around a decentralised autonomous organisation (DAO), and UNFI is Unifi Protocol DAO’s governance token. Candidates are able to campaign to be elected as a Community Council Representative in the protocol’s proof-of-stake ecosystem and then propose or vote on changes to the DAO. Holders can also stake their UNFI tokens to earn rewards. The token is available on Ethereum and on the Binance Smart Chain.
