UFO Gaming is a decentralised gaming platform that is focused on building interactive blockchain-based games and bridging traditional games into the blockchain industry. Focused on both role-playing and action-based games, UFO incorporates play-to-earn (P2E) mechanisms and the ability to mint playable characters that are represented by NFTs.
According to the project’s website, most of UFO’s gaming metaverse revolves around UFOpers - NFT characters that allow players to fight alien factions in a dystopian world to restore peace. Within the gaming metaverse, players are presented with daily quests and activities that reward NFT token holders. To accompany UFO Gaming’s NFT,s the platform has also developed an NFT marketplace where players can swap, buy and sell NFT characters - potentially for a profit if the character has been “levelled up” by a player. To facilitate frictionless gameplay, UFO Gaming is integrated with Immutable X, a layer-2 scaling solution based on Ethereum that specialises in NFT and gaming applications.
The native cryptocurrency of UFO Gaming is also known as UFO. While being used as the prominent medium of exchange within the UFO Gaming ecosystem, the token is also required by those that wish to mint new UFOper characters. All UFOpers can be minted by farming Plasma Points, which is UFO Gaming’s in-game utility token. However, one of the main methods for gaining Plasma Points is by farming UFO tokens. UFO can be staked in a native single-side pool or within an ETH/UFO pool to earn Plasma Points. Plasma Points can then be used to buy NFT characters.
