Canberra Airport (CBR) instructions for drivers

It's a good idea to know how to cash in on this popular route, because it works slightly differently to other pickups.

  • Get a pickup card: These give you free access to the airport for up to 15 minutes at a time. A $22 deposit is required for it, and it is mandatory if you plan on doing airport pickups.
  • FIFO: Enter the designated Uber waiting area to get placed in a queue. This is a virtual First In First Out (FIFO) queue. Time spent here will not count towards your 15-minute access allowance.
  • Express Pickup: Go to the airport "Express Pickup Area" to collect your passenger. You may want to call them and make sure they know where they need to go for pickup. You have 15 minutes to do this before you will start being charged standard parking fees.
