How do I get started with Uber?
If you're not already an Uber rider, you can sign up via the app store. You'll need to provide your contact number and credit card details and download the app.
From there, you can search for and book your ride. It's a book-and-ride rideshare app, so you can't pre-book.
You'll also always be given a fare estimate before you commit to your journey so that you know roughly how much your fare will be.
Uber pick-up zones at Brisbane Airport
Uber is available at Brisbane Airport and pick-up is located at dedicated rideshare pick-up zones a short walk from the terminal.
For domestic arrivals, head to the "Pre-Booked Express and Ride Booking" pick-up area outside the terminal. For international arrivals, walk towards the buses and coaches passenger pick-up zone.
There is a surcharge of $3.90 for airport pickups. This is automatically added to your fare.

Uber rates in Brisbane
Uber in Brisbane has five types of rides for you to choose from. UberX and the certified Assist service are your affordable choices for everyday rides and are priced the same.
You can use UberXL whenever you have up to six passengers, Comfort gives you that added touch of space and Premier is for when you're after something a little extra.
Ride fares are made up of a base fare, a per-minute charge, a per-kilometre charges and any tolls, surcharges and fees incurred during your ride. Surge fares may also apply when demand for rides increases. This could be because of bad weather, rush hour, late-night rides or special events.
For an idea of cost, we looked at fare estimates for a trip from Brisbane Airport to Fortitude Valley. This comes up as $35-$45 with an UberX or Assist, $49-$64 with UberXL, $45-$58 with Comfort and $67-$87 for Premier.
