Uber pick-up zones at Adelaide Airport

Uber is available at Adelaide airport, and there is a dedicated pick-up zone to make it easy for you to find your driver.

Once you’ve picked up your bags, exit the terminal and follow the signs to the "Ride Share pickup area" which is located across the forecourt and to the left of the multi-level car park.

Uber rates in Adelaide

There are four types of Uber vehicles in Adelaide.

  • UberX is your most basic and affordable option where drivers have mid-range vehicles.
  • UberXL is for groups of up to 6 people.
  • UberComfort provides a more comfortable ride with some extra space.
  • UberPremier is a luxurious option in a high-end vehicle with a professional driver.

The amount you'll be charged at the end of your ride is built on a series of fees. This includes a base fare and per minute and per kilometre charge. A minimum fare is imposed on short journeys and tolls and surcharges may apply depending on your driving route.

To give you an idea of cost, an estimated fare from Adelaide Airport to Flinders Street is $21-$27 for an UberX, $24-$31 for a Comfort, $31-$40 for an UberXL and $35-$45 for a Premier.

Uber FAQs

  • Do Ubers have baby seats? No. Ubers in Adelaide aren't typically equipped with baby seats.
  • Are Ubers pet-friendly? Service animals are allowed in Ubers. Some drivers are happy to accommodate well-behaved pets and you should contact them to confirm first before starting your trip. You can make the ride go smoother by bringing along a box or blanket for your pet to help keep the driver’s vehicle clean.
  • Is UberPool available? UberPool is currently only available in select locations around Sydney and Melbourne.
  • How does the cancellation fee work? You can cancel your Uber up until its arrival; however, you may be charged a cancellation fee, depending on how long they've been driving to pick you up. Generally, if you cancel within a few minutes of your request, you shouldn't be charged a fee. You may also be charged a cancellation fee if your driver arrives and you are more than five minutes late for your pick-up. After this time period, your driver may cancel the ride and pick up a new rider.
