TripAdvisor unveils a more socially connected website and app

You'll soon be able to tap into content, social media and itineraries while on holiday.
Online review and booking site TripAdvisor is releasing an "all new" TripAdvisor website and app later this year dedicated to providing a more personalised experience.
Currently in its beta version, the upcoming site includes a travel planning tool that provides you with a space to collate guides, itineraries and things to do. You can keep these private or share them with friends and your travel party.
Integrating social mechanisms on the platform, users can follow influencers, brands, publications and friends for further guides, reviews, videos, photos and inspirational content beyond what the site already offers. These are fed to you via "travel feeds" based on previous searches and your current location.
"The new TripAdvisor is the one travel site that brings together social-assistive tools, amazing content and our existing booking capabilities to merge the joy of planning and discovery together into a single experience," said Stephen Kaufer, CEO and co-founder of TripAdvisor. "We are assisting our members at each step of the journey as we become a more personalized, inspirational and useful TripAdvisor."
So far 500 partners have signed up for the beta version. This includes National Geographic, GoPro and Cruise Critic.
The new site and app are due to launch globally later in the year once it comes out of beta. Stay tuned. In the meantime, you can explore reviews and recommendations by its members on the current TripAdvisor site here.
