The UK (that is England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales) is currently welcoming Australians to its shores, but does have quite specific testing requirements – even if you are a UK citizen or resident.

If you're travelling to the UK, we've outlined all the need-to-know information to make your trip from Australia as smooth as possible.

Will I need to take COVID-19 tests when entering the UK?

Yes. At the minimum, you'll need to take a Day 2 test on or before day 2 after your arrival in the UK.

If you haven't been fully vaccinated, additional tests may be required.

The good news is that the UK government now recognises arrivals who have been fully vaccinated under Australia's vaccine rollout as being "fully vaccinated". This isn't the case for all countries – you can check out the full list here.
