Do I need a permit to enter Bahamas?Alongside standard entry conditions, travellers from Australia need to apply for a health visa. The visa requires a negative COVID-19 test result in order to cover Australians travellers with COVID-19 health insurance while in The Bahamas. The cost of cover is included in the travel visa fee.
Visitors from Australia should note that applications take up to 24 hours to process and the fee is dependent on how long the stay is.
Do I need proof I've had a vaccine to travel?No, travellers from Australia do not need to present proof of a vaccine when going to The Bahamas.
Do I need proof I've had a negative test before departing for Bahamas?Yes, all Australians travellers need to receive a negative COVID-19 (PCR) test result taken within five days of arrival. Australians children, pilots and commercial airline crew who are staying overnight in The Bahamas don’t need to take a test. This negative result is then uploaded into the health visa mentioned above.
Do I need to quarantine when I arrive in Bahamas?Yes, visitors from Australia must complete a mandatory 14-day quarantine if a COVID_19(PCR) test comes back positive. Quarantine locations include:
- A private residence or rented accommodation where there is an unoccupied bedroom with a connected bathroom.
- A hotel or private club where there is an unoccupied bedroom with a connected bathroom.
- A private boat.
- A government mandated quarantine facility at your own expense.
