BankSA Foreign Cash ATMS
As well as ordering your foreign currency online, you can withdraw US dollars, British pounds, Euros and New Zealand dollars from one of BankSA’s pop-up foreign cash ATMs. Currently, there are ATM locations in Sydney, Newcastle, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth. You can view a full list of the pop-up ATM locations on the BankSA website.
Global ATM Alliance
If you have a BankSA debit card, credit card or the Global Currency travel card, you can enjoy fee-free ATM withdrawals when you’re overseas through the Global ATM Alliance. This partnership gives you access to ATMs around the world, with alliance members including Westpac NZ, Deutsche Bank of Germany, Barclays Bank in the UK, Scotiabank of Canada and Bank of Nanjing, China.
When compared to using a BankSA card at a non-partnered overseas ATM, withdrawing money from one of these partners could save you a $5 fee. Note that other fees and charges (such as currency conversion costs or cash advance fees) may still apply when you’re withdrawing cash overseas.
BankSA travel insurance options
If you have an eligible BankSA credit card, such as the Amplify Signature, you can take advantage of complimentary international travel insurance when you use the card to pay for at least $500 of your travel costs before you go away. This cover also applies to your spouse or dependent children when they are travelling with you and meet the eligibility requirements. Other conditions apply, so make sure you read the credit card’s insurance product disclosure statement on the BankSA website for full details.
BankSA also offers comprehensive, standalone travel insurance policies that you can purchase for overseas and domestic trips, with four different options available, depending on the type of cover you want.
