What is TradingView?

TradingView is an online platform that connects you to a large community of traders and lets you create your own trading charts. You can openly discuss your ideas about particular trades, forex currency pairs or stocks with millions of other investors in the online community, and benefit from the ideas and unique insights of others.

Create your own interactive charts and share these on your own social media platforms or blogs, and browse the charts created by others in the community to help you become a better trader. You can access in-depth market data across more than 50 global exchanges.

What are the key features of TradingView?

Online community

TradingView gives you access to millions of traders around the world in the online community to share ideas, share interactive charts you've created and discuss trading strategies. There have been more than 26 million ideas shared on TradingView.

Advanced charts, tools and technical analysis

Access basic price charts, spread plotting charts, line break charts, point and figure charts and more. You can also access more than 50 advanced drawing tools and more than 100 prebuilt technical analysis studies and indicators.

Create and share your own charts

Easily create your own basic or technical charts and share in the online community to discuss with other traders. You can also easily share your charts to your own social media channels or blog.

Access charts made by others

Browse charts created by other traders and leave comments or view previous comments from others in the community. There have been more than 15 million charts created on TradingView by investors around the world.

Access on a range of devices

Access TradingView on desktop or on your tablet for the same, seamless experience. There's also an iOS App available for download on the App Store.

Personal alerts

Set up personalised alerts, for example, when particular assets you're watching drop below a certain level or price point. You can opt to receive visual pop-ups on your phone, audio alerts, a text message or an email alert. You can set these alerts directly from indicators or drawing tools.

Stock filtering tools

You can search for stocks based on your own criteria from more than 100 different filtering options. For example, you can search for stocks with the lowest price-to-earnings ratio (P/E ratio) and browse your options this way.

What fees does TradingView charge?

It's important to note that all fees are charged in USD. When you fund your account from your linked bank account, the money will be converted into USD using your bank's set exchange rate.

The Basic account level is free, but only provides very limited tools and doesn't provide access to the online community, nor does it provide customer support.

All account levels offer access to the following features:

  • The option to publish ideas

How do I get started using TradingView?

You can create an account on the TradingView website for free by creating a username and setting a password. Once you've created an account, you can upgrade your account level to one of the above within the online platform. To do this, you'll need to supply your bank account details or fund your account using PayPal, as well as verify your identity.
