For every quality title on Google Play, there are 100 more subpar ripoffs. We've done the hard work for you by finding the top 10 Android games releases so far in 2016.

There are some truly excellent titles for mobile gamers on the Google Play store. However, half the challenge is finding one that is worth your time and money. Generally, the Google Play store will feature games that are popular, like Clash of Clans and Angry Birds, but rarely does the smaller, more intriguing titles justice.

We've gone through the Google Play store with a fine toothcomb and surfaced with a top 10 list of the best Android games of 2016.

1. Pocket Mortys


Pocket Morty’s is based on the hit TV show Rick and Morty. Ot's An adventure role playing game where you take control of Rick, who after having his portal gun confiscated by the Council of Ricks, must battle the many different versions of Rick in order to retrieve his lost possession and get back home. But how do the Ricks battle each other? With Mortys, of course! Battles consist of Ricks pitting the many different versions of Morty against each other, who each have different attacks and abilities. Rick and Morty is a crazy viewing experience and the game doesn’t shy away from the show’s insanity.

2. VOEZ

Voez is a rhythm game that combines an awesome track list with a stylistic visual and gameplay experience. You must tap the icons on the screen in time with the beat. Doing so will reward you with a massive high score. The game offers multiple game modes such as Story, Challenge and Tournament, with more to come soon. For rhythm game veterans, Voez will be familiar territory but its unique visual style and track list will make sure even the most hardcore rhythm game players have a good time.

The Pit is an endless runner where you run, jump, slide your way through a variety of deadly traps and treacherous terrain. The controls consist of tapping or holding your finger on the screen, which makes your character jump and slide. You can spend the coins you collect on unlocking a variety of playable characters. Trying to beat your high score and unlocking new characters increases the game’s replay value. The Pit is a fun and addictive game that is extremely hard to put down.

Downwell is procedurally generated which means no two play throughs will be the same.
