The debut of the Tommy x Zendaya line was a true celebration of beauty diversity.

Following the popularity of its four part collection with supermodel Gigi Hadid, the Tommy Hilfiger label was quick to move on to its next celebrity collaboration. First teased early this year, the brand has finally debuted its first ever line with Disney queen Zendaya. As both an influencer of fashion and an outspoken activist, it's not hard to see why the Tommy label chose her as its latest partner.

To shed light on issues important to the Disney alumnus, the runway show for the capsule put diversity at its forefront. Held at the Art Deco-style Théâtre in Paris on Saturday night, the event featured models of colour in all sizes and was inspired by the Battle of Versailles fashion show. The 1973 show was a turning point in fashion history as it brought about visibility of American fashion, which until then had been considered inferior to French design.

The show took on a fun 70s theme, featuring roller disco dancers on an illuminated runway with an awesome disco soundtrack to boot. In a move that had us all applauding, models of all sizes aged from 18 up to 70 years old were all given an opportunity to show off the new line which features jumpsuits, wide-legged denim, long-line blazers and zodiac-sign T-shirts. Belted miniskirts also made an appearance, as did halter dresses and beaded jumpsuits.

Zendaya has said that size inclusivity was an incredibly important part of the line for her, commenting, "If women in my family can't all wear it, I don't want to make it".

The capsule is a TommyNow collection, which is a "see now, buy now" initiative where designs shown on the runway are available to buy right away, so get your purses ready. You can get your hands on the line right now from Tommy Hilfiger, with select pieces also available from Myer.
