The designer bargain powerhouse opens in Sydney today and we are beyond excited.

Retail giant TK Maxx opened seven stores in Sydney today, with locations in Campbelltown, Castle Hill, Chatswood, Fairfield, Hillsdale, Mount Druitt and Penrith.

This label lovers dream is a store you've probably heard of from your European or American friends. The store stocks items from a host of designer brands, ranging from popular sports brands such as adidas and Nike to pieces from the likes of Roberto Cavalli and Calvin Klein. We'd liken the store to a treasure chest where you never know what you'll find.

TK Maxx’s Tessa Buenen told 9News that the store gets its stock when a "department store cancels an order" or "a manufacturer makes too much product or a vendor's got too much stock they want to clear at the end of the season."

This means the stock is constantly changing and you won't find all items in every size. You may have to hunt a little to find your bargain.

We asked our friends who have shopped with TK Maxx abroad for their best ever bargain.

Brace yourself, these are the types of mega deals you can expect:

"In Germany, I bought a pair of Steve Maddens for just €20 (approx $30) – I'd seen them for $105 RRP in Australia" - Stephanie

"A medium, pink Victorinox suitcase for just £50 (approx $85) in the UK – these are usually around $400. I also used to buy a lot of Ralph Lauren polo shirts for about half off at TJ Maxx (same company) in the US" - Zahra

"Vera Wang octagonal sunglasses for about £15 (approx $25) at a TK Maxx in the Lake District. I looked them up and they were usually over £170 (approx $270)" - Sarah

"I bought my friend a beautiful, black, leather clutch bag the London brand Osprey for £49 (approx $84). The RRP was over £150 (approx $258)" - Alison

"I used to buy a lot of Fred Perry polo shirts for less than half the price of buying from Fred Perry direct" - Clare

"As a teenager, I remember buying some lilac Quiksilver jeans for less than half price from TK Maxx" - Joanna

"GEOX boots for £20 (approx $35), they'd retail at about $200-$250. I also got a Ralph Lauren handbag that retails at $250 for £40 (approx $70)" - Lisa

"A Cynthia Rowley dress for about £15. I have no idea how much the RRP was, but I'd guess well over £100" - Sarah
