Tigerair’s end of financial year sale returns! Flights from $40.95
Discover domestic deals to get you through the end of winter.
As the end of financial year draws closer, we're counting on a nice tax return but, more importantly, we've got our eyeballs on EOFY travel deals.
Each day they seem to get better and better and the latest to land comes from Tigerair.
Coined the "New Fin Year, Holiday Gear" sale, it comes a few weeks after Tigerair's first wave of end of financial year sale flights. It runs until midday 30 June and features starting fares of $40.95 each way. This low starting fare is on journeys between Melbourne and Hobart.
The next fare up is $44.95 for Sydney to Gold Coast journeys then $45.95 for Melbourne to Adelaide flights.
Other fares we're eyeing include Sydney to Whitsunday Coast from $68.95, Gold Coast to Melbourne from $65.95 and Sydney or Melbourne to Perth from $139.95.
Again, all fares are each way with returns costing double.
On these prices, you can travel between 1 August and 20 September 2018, though the biggest thing to keep in mind is that you have to fly on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday to score them. Flights on other dates are pricier due to demand.

How good are these fares?
- Price: Good. This sale trumps Tigerair's first EOFY sale where flights were advertised as being 40% off though they started at a ghastly $43.95. On similar flights, take for example Melbourne to Hobart, you were being charged $46.95 each way, or $6 more. Return and that's $12 extra. It's not a huge amount, but it definitely is something.
- Travel time: Great. For the most part, flights are direct.
- Airline: Tigerair is a budget carrier and all fares exclude checked luggage, in-flight meals and entertainment. You can add these for a fee, if required.
- Weather: OK. You've some winter and early spring dates included in the sale, which aren't brilliant but definitely aren't as bad as travelling during the heart of winter.
