In celebration of reaching a new milestone in passenger numbers, Tigerair has launched a nationwide 21 Millionth Passenger Sale.

Fares start at just $21 each way, which are being offered on the Adelaide-Melbourne, Canberra Melbourne, Coffs Harbour-Melbourne, Coffs Harbour-Sydney and Gold Coast-Sydney routes.

Other discounted fares in the Tigerair sale include Melbourne-Hobart for $31 each way and Sydney-Adelaide for $41 each way.

More than 12,000 Light Fares are on sale on the airline’s 18 domestic routes and three Bali-bound routes.

Light Fares do not include checked baggage, in-flight meals or seat selection, which can be added at an additional fee. Carry-on bags up to 7kg can be brought on for free.

Travel dates vary slightly depending on the destination, but most are available from 1 February until 29 March 2017.

This sale comes just one week after the carrier’s $1 returns sale, which offers return flights for a dollar when you paid for an outbound ticket. However, by comparison, this sale works out in the travellers favour. For example, a Sydney-Gold Coast flight in the previous sale worked out to $60 return ($59 outbound and $1 return), whereas in the new sale it works out to $42 return ($21 each way).

The 21 Millionth Passenger Sale ends at noon on Saturday 10 September or when sold out.
