Tigerair is marking its ninth anniversary in Australia with a flight sale, including fares as low as $9 one way between some locations.

The first batch of seats go on sale from 1200 AEDT today (16 November), with most on offer between 1 January and 22 February 2017 and between 100 and 300 seats for each route. Prices range from $9 for Melbourne-Sydney, Brisbane-Cairns and Melbourne-Adelaide to $109 for Adelaide-Bali. Here's what's on offer:

The airline says additional $9 seats on some routes will be announced at midday Thursday 17 November and Friday 18 November. The Thursday deals covered similar locations, but shifted the dates to May and June (and didn't disclose the number of seats on each route). We'll update with any key new deals on Friday.

Tigerair often seems as if it's running a sale every other day, between its one-off specials, its regular Tuesday and Saturday specials and its launch of new routes such as Melbourne-Canberra. That said, these are the cheapest fares we've seen since September on the airline.

As with any Tigerair flight, the base price doesn't include checked baggage, meals or seat selection. You'll also have to factor in credit card charges, which Tigerair revised back in October. Even so, these are insanely cheap fares if the dates suit.

      Hi Kay,

Thank you for your question and for contacting finder.com.au – a financial comparison website and general information service designed to help consumers make better decisions. We do not represent the Tigerair.

Unfortunately, the cheap fare of $9 for flights from Brisbane to Sydney between 1 February – 22 March 2017 may have already been sold out, so the new lowest fare offered for this route is now $29. If you wish to book or check available seats and fares of your chosen dates, please contact the Flight Centre directly.

      Cheers,
      May

I clicked on the $9 350 seats for Melbourne to Sydney and I am redirected to Flight Centre but the dates are now for May-June and not Feb-Mar
    Is that correct?

      Hi John,

      Thanks for your question.

The discounted seats for Tigerair are subject to availability. All the seats for Feb-Mar may have already been taken, that is why new dates are offered.

      Cheers,
      Anndy
