Who offers the best price?
Thrifty and Avis both offer the same best price guarantee: if you find the same rate cheaper on another site within 24 hours of booking, they will match the base rate and give you 10% off your rental. Whether you choose Thrifty or Avis, you’re guaranteed the best price by booking directly through their website.
When booking a rental with exactly the same criteria through both Thrifty and Avis, we found that Thrifty offered a slightly cheaper price, though this was quite marginal.
These prices are also exclusive of any deals or discount codes that might be available to you at the time of booking. As the cost is so marginal, it's worth checking both for the better price when you're looking to book.

Deals at Thrifty include weekend car hire specials, free rental days, complimentary vehicle upgrades and discounts for certain vehicles and locations. Past Thrifty deals include 25% off midweek moving truck rentals, four days for the price of three and 10% off SUV rentals.
Avis offers deals on certain vehicles and locations, vehicle upgrades, free rental days and partner deals. Past offers include a free upgrade when you rent a selected car for 2+ days, the 5th day free when you rent for five or more days, double Qantas points when you rent a car, $50 off Avis Signature Series rentals and 15% off rentals in Asia.
