Where is it? Thredbo is located below Mt Kosciuszko in the Snowy Mountains in southern New South Wales.

How do I get there? By car: Thredbo is about a six-hour drive from Sydney or Melbourne. Make sure you have snow chains for your wheels! Read more...

By plane: Rex Airlines operates a service from Sydney to Snowy Mountains Airport, which is approximately one hour from Thredbo. Alternatively, you can fly to Canberra and then choose to drive or catch a bus to Thredbo.

By bus: A number of coach companies provide transport to Thredbo from a range of locations in the east, southeast and south of Australia. Thredbo’s official website provides a useful list.

When should I go? The snow season, naturally, is the most popular time to visit Thredbo. The first snowfall may occur in early June, but it is difficult to predict.
