Final Fantasy Type-0 HD

With the highly anticipated Final Fantasy XV and Final Fantasy VI Remaster on the horizon, it seems that many gamers are wanting to play anything even remotely associated with the iconic Final Fantasy franchise. A High Definition remaster of a PlayStation Portable classic, Final Fantasy: Type-0 HD is a spin-off of the core Final Fantasy series. The game centres around Class Zero, a group of students who become heavily involved in a monstrous conflict while trying to uncover the secrets behind mythical crystals. Big W is currently selling Final Fantasy Type-0 HD for $19.00, which is a saving of $70.95.

This price is only available through Big W's online store. Alternatively you can score Final Fantasy: Type-0 on PS4, Xbox One and PC for as low as $14.69 at ozgameshop.

Games with Gold

It is that time of the month where Microsoft descends from the heavens and blesses gamers with free video games. Each month, Microsoft provides Xbox Live subscribers with several free games spanning the Xbox One and Xbox 360. This month's Games with Gold covers multiple genres and tone, with some games not taking themselves too seriously. This month’s titles include:. Super Dragon Bros (Xbox One), Murdered: Soul Suspect (Xbox One), Monkey Island: Special Edition (Xbox One & Xbox 360), and Far Cry: Blood Dragon (Xbox One & Xbox 360).

Bloodborne

From Software’s games, such as Dark Souls, have become infamous for several reasons. Each game is gorgeous, boasting a gloomy aesthetic with spiralling and interconnecting maps, and fantastic gameplay. They're also known for being extremely difficult. Bloodborne continues the established From Software design philosophy. Only, instead of sprawling landscapes filled with gothic castles, Bloodborne is set in murky and dirty streets inspired by early English architecture. Combat is much faster, and instead of having a high focus on defence, From Software's PlayStation exclusive rewards aggression. Ozgameshop is currently selling Bloodborne for $31.99.

Doom

Not many games can define an entire genre. When the original Doom released in 1993, it blew gamers (and demons) away. Now, in 2016, the latest game continues the gamer-blowing trend. Doom 2016 takes the core gameplay previously established and adapts it to current generation systems. Gamers control the "Doom Guy" on his quest to completely eradicate the vicious hell spawn through the use of high-powered weaponry.

Big W is currently selling Doom 2016 for $49. We called Doom's latest a "flaming tribute to the genre's roots" when we reviewed it back in May.

Nintendo

Devil’s Third

It's always welcome when a new title makes its way on a dying console. Devil’s Third is an action-adventure hack and slash shooter video game developed on a console solely marketed at children and nostalgia-filled adults. Gamers play as Ivan, a tattoo-covered, drum playing action hero who must take on a gigantic foe in the wake of a global catastrophe.

OzGameShop is currently selling Devil’s Third for $21.99, which is a saving of $48.00.

Guitar Hero Live

Do you believe that learning how to play a real guitar is too complicated? Or you don’t have enough time? Do you want to play to a large, full-motion video crowd while in reality you are alone in your lounge room? Guitar Hero live is the newest addition to the plastic instrument franchise. The latest entry goes back to the series roots and solely focuses on the trials and tribulations of the lead guitarist in a oddly popular cover band. Target is currently selling Guitar Hero Live Bundle for $25 and is one of the cheapest prices available for the title.

PC

Dead Space 2

Dead Space came during a time where many games tried to emulate the style of gameplay made famous by the stellar Resident Evil 4. Unlike other titles, Dead Space succeeded while implementing new features that would set it apart from the competition. Dead Space 2 takes place on The Sprawl, a giant space station in orbit around Saturn. Players control Isaac Clarke, a systems engineer who must struggle with his own sanity whilst trying to avoid a brutal death at the hands of the Necromorphs. Equipped with a bunch of mining tools, Isaac must dismember his enemies in order to destroy them.

Steam is currently selling Dead Space 2 for $6.57, which is a saving of $19.74.

Darkest Dungeon

Strategy games with perma-death have been growing in popularity with more and more indies using it to create punishing gameplay loops. Combine this style of play with a gothic aesthetic and themes of insanity and you have Darkest Dungeon.

Darkest Dungeon is a turn-based RPG about the psychological stress on adventurers whilst dungeon crawling. Players will need to recruit a team of flawed adventurers and lead them on a quest to the Darkest Dungeon. This won’t be easy. You will battle against a wide array of unimaginable horrors while trying to keep your sanity.

Steam is currently selling Darkest Dungeon for $19.73, which is a saving of $13.16.
