Often referred to as a bargain hunters paradise, Hong Kong is a mix of high end designer outlets and market stalls peddling antiques, jewellery and electronics. Bartering is common practice in the nation, so don't be afraid to ask for what you want at a better price - though be prepared to walk away to continue the game.
You won't have to wander far to satisfy your need for a shopping spree though some more famous shopping areas and centres include Admiralty, Central, SoHo, Causeway Bay, Tsim Sha Tsui, Design Gallery and Fashion Walk.
Climb the Peak for the ultimate city view
For unbeatable views of the city, you need to visit Victoria Peak. Home to multiple hiking trails, you can easily walk your way up on designated paths or take the tram car to the peak.
Join a half-day tour and you can also visit Stanley Market for bargain souvenirs and Aberdeen Harbour with its floating restaurants, too.
Party in Macau
Step outside of Hong Kong for the day and visit Macau. It’s the oldest European settlement in the Orient and you can easily get there by ferry.
When in Macau, visit ruins like St. Paul’s, see history at A-Ma Temple and Penha Church, and try your luck at the casino. Lastly, take a ride around the Macau Grand Prix track.
Pay your respects at the Wong Tai Sin temple
The Wong Sai Sin Temple is home to three religions and claims to “make every wish come true upon request”.
It has become an attraction for worshippers and tourists alike to see its grand beauty and spiritual setting.
