The Ned Hotel will be a game changer for business travel
Take a stroll through London's Ned Hotel, set to open in about a week.
Business travellers are eagerly eyeing the newly-restored Ned Hotel, set to become one of London's newest and biggest networking hubs. The former bank will be reopened on 27 April following an extensive overhaul and bookings are already being taken to secure its plush rooms.
While it's estimated that 60-80% of guests will be business travellers, it's likely that all types will flock to The Ned, as it boasts a wide range of price points and amenities. Taking the features of a boutique hotel to a grand scale, the design is all the work of its creators (Nick Jones of Soho House fame and Andrew Zobler of Sydell property managers), who have done their best to make sure The Ned will always have a bustling and diverse crowd, as well as some exclusive "members only" areas.
These areas include a panoramic rooftop bar, a 620 square metre gym and a private downstairs bar inside the former vault. The high-end diversity is striking, with The Ned offering 252 rooms in 13 different categories, from the more leisurely "crash pad" and "cosy" style rooms to the more luxurious heritage and terrace suites.
The furnishings drip with 1920s glamour, styled with timber flooring and floor-to-ceiling curtains. The gorgeous rooms are accompanied by three bars and eight restaurants, some of which are open 24-hours, to make sure everyone can always get what they want. The hotel also has a barbershop (including a shoe shine station), beauty parlour and nail salon for the ultimate pamper session, as well as six meeting and event spaces set within the historic sixth floor for exclusive gatherings.
Naturally, The Ned is centrally located, being only 15 minutes from London's West End by tube.
In short, the plan is to bring energy back to business travel, as well as the opportunity for entrepreneurs, analysts, leisure travellers, salesmen and everyone else to rub shoulders with people who share their interests, making a kind of alchemy of opportunity.
The Ned Hotel opens on 27 April with rooms starting from £250. You can check out the different rooms available and make your bookings with booking.com now.
