9 activewear essentials to shop at THE ICONIC
Look fit AF at the gym (or at least at brunch) in our fave pieces from Nike, adidas, ASICS and more.
Now that restrictions are easing in Australia and many of us are back at the gym, it's time to invest in some new activewear. Perhaps I'm using it as motivation to kick my workout routine into gear or maybe it's just another excuse to justify some retail therapy. Either way, I've trawled through hundreds of items on THE ICONIC and felt obliged to share my findings. Including some tried and true faves and many wishlist wants, here's a round-up of my favourite activewear essentials and sports-luxe looks that you can shop to live your way.
I first tried this sports bra in 2013 and have never looked back. It's an absolute essential in my activewear rotation and I've lost track of how many times I've re-purchased it. As a well-endowed lady myself, I find it super comfy and supportive whether I'm doing a HIIT class or hating my life on the treadmill.
These Running Bare bike shorts are super breathable and fit like a second skin. They're a high waisted cut, so boast the double whammy of being super comfy and flattering. When you're not working out, you can pair them with a tee, blazer and cute pair of boots for an easy athleisure look.
While I have been known to wear baggy old band tees to the gym, sometimes that just doesn't cut it. With a mesh back and quick-dry fabric, this top is fab for those extra sweaty workouts.
A good pair of runners is an absolute must and it's worth forking out a little extra if you can fit it in your budget. The New Balance Fresh Foam shoes are considered a staple among many runners online. The Ultra Heel offers a super strong grip and the Lightweight Fresh Foam X cushioning will protect your tootsies from any hard impact. They're also available in black if this cerulean blue isn't your thang.
A Fitbit is like that reliable bestie who drags you to an early morning gym class but showers you with positive affirmations when you show up. The Versa 3 offers 24/7 fitness tracking, sleep analytics, is water proof if you take it for a dip and can be linked with ol' mate Alexa. THE ICONIC has also knocked $90 off the RRP right now, so consider this a sign from above to "add to cart".
This super graphic track jacket gives me off-duty 80s Olympic Athlete vibes and I'm here for it. Made of lightweight matte nylon, it is perf to chuck on for your morning walk or commute to the gym on a rainy day. It's also so damn cute that we wouldn't be mad if you were caught rocking it to a Sunday brekkie.
With a wardrobe full of plain black leggings myself, I'm making a vow to say goodbye to boring activewear in 2021. This pair of camo print leggings fits the bill. With sweat-wicking, quick-drying fabric, they're a good companion for even the most intense workout. Plus, any activewear that makes me feel like an honorary member of Destiny's Child is a must have.
They say that rest days are just as important as the active ones. With that being said, we just had to include a loungewear set for your day off. The 00s are making a ha-yuuuge comeback and this velour-look slim jogger (plus the matching cropped hoodie) are a major throwback. It's also available in yellow and black, but the baby blue has to be our fave.
I'm obsessed with chunky sneakers and these platform PUMA Cali Sport kicks are defs on the wishlist. With leather and suede detailing, it's the kinda shoe you could couple with a cute dress on the weekend or a pair of trousers for a casual Friday at the office.
I could go on like this forever, but you can browse 'til your heart's content and stock up on all of your sporty fashion needs at THE ICONIC.
