What is The Good Guys and what does the store sell?

The Good Guys has long been an Australian icon (who can forget the jingle?) and is well known for its discount prices on electronics and big ticket items. With over 98 stores across the country it is a leader in the consumer electronics market.

What products are predicted to be in The Good Guys Boxing Day sale?

If you are itching to know what will go on sale this Boxing Day from The Good Guys, looking at what kinds of products were discounted last year is a good start. Also, keep an eye on older models. Boxing Day is a great excuse for retailers to make way for new stock in the new year and you can often find a good price on products that are annually updates and released. TVs, audio products, computers and accessories, cameras, and phones are likely to be especially discounted.

Shoppers can take advantage of pre-Christmas sales on LED HD TVs and monitors from panasonic and Sony, Fisher & Paykel and Westinghouse fridges, and Breville kitchen appliances now.

Is it worth waiting until Boxing Day to buy electronics from The Good Guys?

The Good Guys is known for sale prices all year round but if you know what you want to buy and are willing to wait until Boxing Day, it does make sense to get the expensive items on the biggest sale day of the year.

To get the biggest bang for your buck, make a plan. Write a prioritised list of the items you would like to buy and set yourself a budget for each one. Do your research before the day comes so you know where you will find the best price. Any money left over can be spent on non-essentials.

If you can’t stand the crowds, or just want to rest on Boxing Day, don’t worry. The Good Guys offer discounted electronics and home appliances every day in the Clearance and Bargain Buys sections, online or in store.

What are The Good Guys’s Christmas opening hours?

The Good Guys is open during the whole Christmas period (except for Christmas Day). Stores Australia wide will open 9am–5.30pm on Christmas Eve and Boxing Day.

Alternatively, skip the lines and shop online 24 hours a day. You can get the same great deals online and stay in your PJs the whole time.

What other electronics stores have Boxing Day sales?

The trick to getting a good deal on Boxing Day is shopping around and doing your research to find the best prices. If you’re looking for a camera compare prices from Sony, eGlobal, David Jones and DWI Digital.

Not all retailers are advertising Boxing Day sales yet but last year’s prices are a good indicator of what shoppers can expect on Boxing Day 2017.

In 2016:

David Jones offered 60% off storewide

Digital World International (DWI) sold cameras and accessories 40% off

Pre-Christmas sales are on now, so keep an eye out for an early deal from David Jones ($170 off KitchenAid mixer), Microsoft (cashback offers on Office, $100 off XBOX One + Kinect and deals on games and tablets), or Macintosh Addict (10% off Bang & Olufsen Play speakers and headphones and 5% off accessories).

If you're not willing to wait or if you see something that's a bang-on bargain, you know what to do.
