The Block recap: Sharing is caring (20.09.2016)
Last night's challenge winners decide money does buy happiness.
It was challenge night last night on The Block, but before they could be formally put through the wringer, the contestants had to face the wrath of Foremen Keith and Dan. It seems someone was using power tools past curfew yet again.
When will they learn? Perhaps when it hits their hip pockets, decided Foreman Keith. He fined Karlie and Will $500 for after-hours tool use.
The hits kept coming for the couple, with Karlie deciding she’d had enough of her role leading the rooftop garden efforts. She resigned, only to have the job snapped up by Kim which led to some consternation from Julia and Sasha.
The design duo knew Kim was unhappy with them, and thus expected to be handed terrible jobs. Should their fears come to pass, expect them to describe their anger using the word “assassinate” several times.

That bit of business finished, the couples were whisked away by helicopter to Daylesford to create guest rooms as a “home away from home”. One half of each team would stay in Daylesford to create artwork for the room, while the other would head back to Melbourne to shop for the room. The winners of the challenge would receive $10,000, which they could choose to split with the second- and third-placed teams.
After much sound and fury, Karlie and Will took home the prize. Second place went to Sasha and Julia, with Kim and Chris coming in third. It was up to Karlie and Will to decide how much of the $10,000 to share with the runners-up.
After a lovely night in their newly-made over rooms, Karlie and Will decided the wisest course of action was to engender the hatred of everyone around them. They parted with a total of just $1,000, handing $600 to Sasha and Julia and $400 to Kim and Chris. No-one seemed impressed about eating the scraps from Will and Karlie’s table.
Back at The Block, Kim jumped headlong into her duties as rooftop garden dictator. She also jumped headlong into her hatred forJulia and Sasha, who she still hadn’t forgiven for Wallgate.

The girls were oblivious to Kim’s ire as they engaged in a heated argument over … well … everything. It ended with Julia storming off, which is becoming so common it’s practically a trope.
It looks like the stormy moods will continue for Julia, with Nine teasing she’s about to hit her breaking point and walk off The Block again. Will it be as dramatic as her last blow-up that held us all enraptured for approximately 30 seconds before changing absolutely nothing about the dynamics of the show? Time will tell.
