The block episode 24 recap master bedrooms revealed

Last night on The Block, master bedrooms were revealed, and one of the contestants was revealed as a snitch.

The Departed-esque drama began when Andy, Ben and Chris decided to have a bit of harmless fun by plastic-wrapping the contestants’ cars in the dead of night. Somehow, Foremen Keith and Dan found out the perpetrators of the prank, and Andy and Ben were left bearing the brunt of Keith’s punishment. Fast forward a bit, and Chris was seen dining on a lovely seafood feast with Keith and Dan. Naturally, the boys smelled a rat.

Andy and Ben meted out some mob-style justice, putting a prop horse head in Chris’ bed. If Chris isn’t careful he’ll end up at the bottom of the Yarra in a pair of polished concrete shoes.

On to the task at hand, and Shaynna, Darren and Neale arrived at the Block for room reveal. Karlie and Will were first cab off the rank, and were betting on their gorgeous wood feature wall to get them the win. To their credit, it was the first thing the judges noticed when they entered the room. They also loved the couple’s custom-made doors, and the overall look of the room.

It was on to Carleen and Dan, who were still riding high after last week’s win. The judges loved the room’s double wood doors, and the addition of heritage pieces from the couple’s vault. Unfortunately, a quick test showed the couple’s walk-in robe had a hanging space too shallow to store even a basic shirt, and too short to hang a full-length coat. Maybe the lucky buyer can use it to dry jerky or something.

Andy and Ben were next up, and while Neale and Darren liked the feel of the room, Shaynna was underwhelmed. She called the space a “bachelor pad”, narrowly escaping infringing on the intellectual property of a rival network’s reality show.

Then the judges headed to the top floor to check on the progress of the Block’s feuding couples. Julia and Sasha were up first. Darren said the couple’s room was glamorous, and Shaynna called it luxury so Neale felt it right to split the difference and call it glamorous luxury. Neale was glad that the girls delivered a room of this standard saying that he felt like “the girls have really raised their game”. Shaynna was ready to move into the apartment after entering the girls’ walk-in robe and Neale said he felt like he was in an extremely high-end boutique.

Finally came Kim and Chris, who in between their scheming to undermine Julia and Sasha, somehow managed to find time to renovate a room. It seems size matters on the Block, as most of the judges’ feedback pertained to the spaciousness of the room rather than its finish. The judges did love the furniture, however, and Neale called it “the most glamorous bedroom I have ever seen on The Block.”

It was a photo finish with Kim and Chris and Julia and Sasha tied on points after Darren and Shaynna’s points were presented, but Neale pulled a 10 out for Kim and Chris which put them on top by half a point. Which is good as no-one wanted to see what would have happened if the two couples had to share a win and a night away from The Block together.
