Travel

Frequent flyer partners

You can currently exchange your NAB Rewards for frequent flyer points with Air New Zealand Airpoints, Asia Miles and Velocity Frequent Flyer. You can compare the different exchange rates below.

Frequent flyer program Exchange rate Exchange from 50,000 NAB Rewards Minimum transfer amount
Virgin Australia Velocity 3 NAB Rewards = 1.5 Velocity Points 25,000 Velocity Points 3,000
Cathay Pacific Asia Miles 3 NAB Rewards = 1 Asia Mile Approximately 16,666 Asia Miles 3,000

Where could I travel with 50,000 NAB Rewards?

Exactly where you could travel will depend on the frequent flyer program you go with, but let’s look at Velocity as an example. Considering the exchange rate, 50,000 NAB Rewards would get you 25,000 Velocity Points to redeem for Virgin Australia flights.

At the time of writing (25 July 2017), 25,000 Velocity Points will get you an economy return flight from Sydney to Melbourne for 22,800 Velocity Points. If you’d prefer to fly in style, you could take a one-way trip from Sydney to Melbourne in business class for 19,100 Velocity Points. If you want to take your adventure overseas, you could redeem an economy reward one-way flight from Brisbane to Auckland for 17,800 Velocity Points plus $125.46.

These are just a few of examples of the points potential. You can use the Velocity Points calculators or opt to view the costs in Velocity Points when booking flights via Virgin Australia to see how far your points could take you.

If you’d prefer to earn Velocity Points directly, you can compare Velocity frequent flyer credit cards to compare other options with more competitive earn rates.

Flights

You can also redeem your NAB Rewards for flights via Webjet. You can book flights with popular Australian airlines including Qantas, Virgin Australia, Jetstar and more, so it could offer more flexibility than if you were to exchange your NAB Rewards for frequent flyer points.

You just need to log into your NAB Rewards account to book your flight and cover the cost with your NAB Rewards.
