The LG G6’s 18:9 screen will get you an even bigger screen if you pre-order through Telstra.

We’ve known for a while that Telstra will be the exclusive launch partner for the LG G6 when it launches locally on 28 March. Telstra has today announced that its pre-orders will go live from tomorrow for delivery on 28 March, with a special added bonus if you sign up for a plan at the $95 price tier or higher.

Specifically, Telstra customers will be able to redeem a 43-inch LG 2017 Smart TV with their LG G6 plan. While 43 inches isn’t exactly huge by modern TV standards, with plenty of research suggesting that Australians are increasingly opting for TVs with screen sizes of 55 inches and above, a free TV is certainly nothing to sneeze at if you’re already keen on the LG G6.

The deal applies to any customer signing up for a Go Mobile Plus, Go Mobile Swap, My Business Mobile Plus or My Business Mobile Lease plan at the $95 or higher tier (excluding any handset repayment fees). The $95 plan is a standard Telstra Mobile plan that currently gets you 8GB of included data and unlimited standard national calls and texts. Telstra stated to finder.com.au that it expects shipping for the free TV offer to take around 6 weeks from redemption.

The TV in question is a Full HD model that Telstra states has an RRP of $1,099. Given that the LG G6’s 5.7-inch display has a QHD+ (2880x1440) resolution that means that it's actually sharper than the TV you get with it.
