Telstra Day is back for May, with mobile and Internet plans going for peanuts plus $250 off some popular phones.

Telstra Day $1 mobile plan

Telstra only offers 5G on its Upfront Mobile Plan Medium and above, with prices starting at $65 a month for 80GB.

But today you're in luck. If you've been wanting to test run its 5G network, you can do that for just $1 for the first month and save $64 on its Medium plan.

You also get additional bells and whistles such as:

• Endless data. Your speeds will be capped at 1.5Mbps once you’ve reached your data limit.
• My Telstra mobile app sorts your billing, customer support, tracks your usage and more.
• Data sharing with up to 10 post-paid services on the same account.
• Data-free streaming of live sport.

• Is there a catch? The only catch is you have to be a new customer to get this deal. Luckily there's no contract so you can always switch plans once your first month is up.

Telstra NBN – $2 for 2 months

This month's Telstra Day deals once again include offers on selected NBN plans.

These are going for only $2 for the first 2 months and are served alongside 50,000 bonus points for Telstra Plus members.

• Telstra Upfront Internet Plan Essential (50Mbps): $1 a month for 2 months, then $95 a month thereafter
• Telstra Upfront Internet Plan Premium (100Mbps): $1 a month for 2 months, then $110 a month thereafter
