For over 20 years, the Tekken series has told the sorry tale of the Mishima family, cursed to fight amongst themselves until all but one is left standing. The exact nature of this curse has long been a mystery, but all that is set to change with this week's release of Tekken 7. Pitched by Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada as the climactic conclusion to the Mishima clan saga, Tekken 7 promises to finally answer why series protagonist Heihachi has spent all these years trying to kill both his son and grandson, as well as what role the Devil plays in the violent family feud.

Of course, a bonkers story isn't Tekken's only claim to fame. The fighting game series has held its ground against Street Fighter for many years, differentiating itself with 3D movement in large, complex arenas along with the ability to launch opponents through destructible walls and floors to unlock new areas to fight in.

Tekken 7 stays true to the formula established by recent Tekken games while adding in a few new mechanics of its own. Players can now perform Power Crushes, special moves that cannot be interrupted by an opponent's regular attacks. When a character is at critical health, they can also pull off a Rage Art attack, which sacrifices the normal power boost you get at critical health for one last-ditch super attack on the enemy. There are also 8 new characters making their debut in Tekken 7, including the legendary Akuma of Street Fighter fame.

If the prospect of fighting a laser-eyed Devil Jin atop an active volcano has got you anxious for Tekken 7's June 2nd release date, you can rest easy. We've gathered up all the best prices on Tekken 7 in Australia in the table above.
