This product is a favourite of Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian. But most importantly, is it a love of mine?
If you're a makeup fan, then you've probably heard of Tatcha's most popular product. The Tatcha Dewy Skin Mist is easily a fan favourite and loved by numerous celebrities including Kylie Jenner, Kim Kardashian and Drew Barrymore.
Now celebrities are all well and good but as a makeup hoarder, I've tried my fair share of setting sprays and believe myself to be the ultimate test. I have dry skin, put on a fair amount of makeup and struggle to get that glowing look.
According to the MECCA wesbite, the product "acts to rehydrate and bring life back to dull, parched skin. Mist on bare skin or over foundation to instantly soften, smooth, refresh and give a lustworthy dewiness to your complexion."
Let me start straight off the bat by saying this mist is ultra-fine. In comparison to other setting sprays like the Urban Decay Setting Spray or the Nyx Dewy Setting Spray, I could barely even feel the moisture hitting my skin! The super-fine spritzer means it only took two to three sprays to cover my entire face.
Other setting sprays can leave your skin feeling a little wet but this product is entirely different. In fact, I thought it wasn't working at first because I couldn't really feel it coming out. To me, this just goes to show how high-quality the product actually is.
The only way I figured out it worked was that I could see teeny drops of moisture on the small hairs on my face. Instantly, my makeup looked like it went from 0-100. My powder and foundation blended into my skin making it look incredibly seamless and natural-looking.
Now I wouldn't say that my skin looked super dewy in that it looked wet. It looked dewy in the way that my skin definitely had more of a natural radiance to it and no matte finish. Which is exactly what I was after.
On top of that, my skin actually stopped feeling like it had a fair amount of makeup on it and felt a lot more hydrated!
Obviously, makeup isn't going to look the same at the end of the day as it does at the start. However, never have I had my makeup hold up as long and as well as it does after applying this mist.
My face kept the radiant glow nearly six hours later and surprisingly I didn't even feel the need to re-spray. I'm not saying that my makeup looked the same as it did at the start of the day but my foundation was literally in the best condition I'd seen it in after a full day's work.
The ingredients in this mist actually work to pull moisture from the surrounding air. Therefore, your skin stays hydrated throughout the day without the need to reapply. How fantastic is that?
The formula has a somewhat milky consistency. It's jam-packed with a blend of squalene, red algae and Tatcha anti-aging, antioxidant-rich HADASEI-3™ complex that acts to rehydrate and bring dull, parched skin back to life.
The Okinawa red algae and hyaluronic acid are efficient in delivering hydration to the skin and acting as the ultimate moisture magnet. The Tatcha Dewy Skin Mist is also formulated with more than 20% botanical oils and humectants in order to give skin that ultra-dewy look.
The final verdict
Okay, I'm going to be honest with you. I kind of didn't want to like this finishing spray. It's $70 and I didn't want to fall in love with a setting spray at that price point.
However, I'm sold.
This mist is easily worth the splurge and since you only need a couple of spritzes for the face, you're not going to churn through it. On top of that, it's an incredibly high-quality product and that's exactly what you're paying for. A good spritzer, quality packaging, long shelf life, multiple uses and just damn good stuff. Plus, it's going to be super helpful in your winter skincare routine!
I can completely see why so many celebrities love this product for its luxe, high-quality finish.
Plus, I'm pretty sure this makes me a Kardashian now.
