Japanese

Wind back to the mid-late ‘90s and the term ‘Japanese food’ would have been synonymous with only two words: ‘sushi’ and ‘train’. Since then, Sydney’s culinary knowledge of Japanese cuisine has evolved immensely, developing into a rich palette for homestyle ramen, udon, gyoza, soba and, of course, sushi.

Lashings of Tokyo’s nightlife now burst through the Sydney scene, with everything from traditional sake bars and interactive order menus, to Harajuku-style bars and late night clubs, capturing our senses.

Best drunk with a shot of high quality sake. Or at the very least, the people’s favourite Asahi. We’re inclined to try both.
