Which of your favourite destinations made the list?

We've always known Sydney to be a powerhouse of a holiday destination and now the picturesque harbour city has snapped up the top spot in the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Award in Australia for the second year in a row.

The Gold Coast, though, has officially put up its boxing gloves after climbing two spots (from #4) this year to take out second place. Surfer’s Paradise Beach also just won #2 on TripAdvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Beaches in February.

Jan Hutton, chief marketing officer of Destination Gold Coast, said "The number one trend in travel is to experience a destination like a local and we capitalise on this by elevating the voice of residents and visitors to humanise our 'We Are Gold Coast' destination brand and to tell our story effectively."

The aspiring destination welcomes more than 13 million visitors every year and after this year’s Commonwealth Games we’re sure it’s going to be on everyone’s bucket-list.
