Sydney Land values 2015

The average land value in Sydney is now $819,512.50. How fast are values going up in your area?

New land valuation figures from the NSW Valuer General show that Western Sydney is growing faster than any other region. Blacktown property values rose a whopping 47.06% between 2014 and 2015, with Holroyd in second place with a 38.01% increase.

That said, the priciest land is still in inner-city areas. Mosman tops the chart for average land value at $1,590,000. Only one local government area had a growth rate under 10% (Blue Mountains, with a 5% increase).

The valuation figures are used by local councils to determine rates, and will also be considered by financial institutions if you're applying for a loan for vacant land or as an owner-builder. You can see the figures for all Sydney council areas below, and can sort by value or percentage increase by clicking at the top of the column.

While land value is an important consideration, it's not the only factor you should consider. Planned infrastructure developments in the area will also have a big impact on the ultimate value of your home. You can use our home loan comparison tables to find out how much a loan for these areas would cost, or a Sydney-based mortgage broker can also help you find the best option.
