Investment options offered by LGIAsuper
Members can choose from a range of seven pre-made investment options or single sector options.
Pre-mixed investment options
The pre-mixed options are diversified portfolios that invest in a mix of different asset classes including shares, property, fixed interest and cash.
Pre-mixed investment option | Risk level | Asset allocation |
---|---|---|
LGIAsuper MySuper This is a pre-mixed, diversified fund designed to suit most members. It invests in a range of different asset classes, with around 70% allocation towards growth assets like shares. It has a similar risk level to the Diversified Growth option. If you don't select an investment option, you'll be placed in the default MySuper investment option. | Medium to High |
Aggressive This option is the highest-risk and highest-growth option available. It aims to achieve better long term returns than all other options, and has a high allocation towards growth assets. Its designed for members with a longer investment timeframe. | High |
Diversified Growth This option has a similar allocation towards growth and defensive assets as the MySuper option. It invests in a mix of different asset classes. | Medium to High |
Balanced This option is designed to achieve growth over the medium to long term, but it has less exposure to growth assets compared to the Aggressive and Diversified Growth options. It aims to strike a balance between capital growth and protecting your balance from market falls. | Medium |
Stable This option has less exposure to growth assets than the previous options, but more exposure to growth assets than the Defensive option. It's designed to have some level of medium-term growth while protecting your investment balance. | Low to Medium |
Defensive This option has the lowest risk level of all the ready-made options, with around 80% allocation to defensive assets including cash and bonds. It's designed for investors with a shorter investment timeframe (e.g.: if you're close to or in retirement) or those with a low risk tolerance. | Very Low |
Socially Responsible Balanced This option has a similar allocation to growth and defensive assets as the Diversified Growth and MySuper options, but it has a focus on socially responsible/ ethical criteria when investing. | High |
Socially Responsible Australian Shares This option also takes into account socially responsible/ ethical criteria when investing. However unlike the previous option, it only invests in Australian shares. Because it has 100% allocation to shares, this is the highest risk investment option. | Very High |
*Asset allocation between growth and defensive assets correct as of September 2021, and may shift slightly from time to time.
