Beauty Product of the Week: Sundae Body Foam review

Picture not described

Basically, if you like cute things in your shower that smell heavenly, this is the product for you.

To get straight to the point, these little whipped cream lookalike body foams have completely taken over my FYP. The stupidly good, aesthetically-pleasing bottle has featured in basically every beauty or morning routine video and it's at the point that it's a disgrace to myself that I haven't tried it yet. The product just looks delicious?! But please don't eat it. Confirming it is not edible.

About the brand

Sundae describes itself as a brand to "make showers fun again". The Sundae Body Foam is a creamy foam that forms into a rich, velvety lather and comes in a range of scents. There are 8 scents in total, including:

  • Pomegranate Fizz
  • Coconut Cream
  • Honey, Honey
  • Very Vanilla
  • Cherry on Top
  • Juicy Pear
  • Orange Crush

All foams are formulated with Kakadu Plum and Finger Lime. The Kakadu Plum is a rich source of vitamin C, which aims to brighten your skin's complexion and fight those pesky signs of ageing. The Finger Lime is a natural source of AHA (a liquid exfoliant) and gently exfoliates your skin to give you a smoother and more even complexion.

The hashtag #sundaebody has over 2 million views on TikTok and, honestly, it's been all over my FYP so I'm convinced I'm at least half of those views.

The Sundae Body Foams retail for $19.99 and you can shop them direct from the brand, Priceline and Woolworths.

The review

Sundae Body Foam in Cool Mint ($19.99)

I was gifted 4 foams from the Sundae range and decided to go with Cool Mint. Mint has always been one of my favourite scents and it's one of the reasons why I'm so obsessed with the Bondi Boost haircare range.

The packaging of this product really does make your shower look cute and, more importantly, it's really easy to use. It's not a battle to take the cap off and the product seamlessly comes out. It works the same way you'd expect – like the whipped cream bottle you used to sneak down to in the middle of the night when you were a kid. Again, please don't eat it.

A small amount goes a helluva long way. The foam instantly lathers against your skin and makes it easy to get the job done. I absolutely adored the smell of this product and felt like it had a cooling sensation against my skin. The reason I love mint products is because they just make me feel that little bit extra clean and the Sundae wash did just that.

Now you may be asking, why foam? Well, it's because foam is more intense than a gel or cream wash. The foam texture absorbs in your skin more giving you a deeper clean. It also increases the scents longevity on your skin. Probably my favourite part of this product was how long I could smell the minty freshness well after my shower. The first day I used it, I had compliments about how good I smelled and it was an instant serotonin hit.

The one thing I thought may have hindered my liking of this product was that sometimes foam can be quite drying on the skin. However, the formula of this product definitely felt like a big drink of water. The Kakadu Plum and Finger Lime means you're increasing your cell turnover and you're not left with dead skin cells, which can lead to dry skin. Big tick.

Final verdict

While $19.99 is a little more expensive than some other body washes that are available at your local shop, in my opinion it's worth it. The scents are divine, they last on your skin well after your shower and my skin felt like it had had a big bang of hydration too.

While I was gifted this product and I have 4 fabulous foams to get through, I could definitely see myself purchasing this product when I run out in the future.
