Suncorp Bank Frequent Flyer Credit Cards

Read this guide to find out how you can earn frequent flyer rewards for your spending with a Suncorp Bank Clear Options credit card.

Suncorp Bank offers a range of rewards cards for personal and business customers. If you have a Suncorp Bank Clear Options credit card, or a Suncorp Bank Clear Options Business card enrolled in Premium Rewards, you can opt to earn Qantas Frequent Flyer points for an additional annual fee. Here, we explain how this option works and what you need to consider to decide if a Suncorp frequent flyer credit card is right for you.

Earning frequent flyer points with a Suncorp Bank Credit Card

Suncorp Bank has two credit cards that allow you to directly earn frequent flyer points:

  • The Clear Options Platinum credit card. This is Suncorp Bank's most premium personal credit card. It requires a minimum income of $35,000 and comes with a credit limit of up to $30,000. It also has a standard variable interest rate on purchases of 20.74% p.a. While the Clear Options Platinum gives you complimentary membership to the Suncorp Bank Rewards program, you can choose to earn Qantas Frequent Flyer points for an annual fee of $49. You can then earn 1.25 Qantas Frequent Flyer point for every $1 spent (capped at per statement period).
  • The Clear Options Business credit card. Designed for small to medium enterprises, this credit card allows you to earn Qantas points for your spending when you opt in to the Premium Rewards program. There is an additional annual fee of $69 for this option, which applies for each card listed on the account. You can then choose between earning Suncorp Bank Reward points or Qantas Frequent Flyer points. Note that when points are redeemed for Qantas Frequent Flyer Points, they will be redeemed at a rate of 2 Suncorp Bank Reward points for 1 Qantas Frequent Flyer point. The initial redemption for this option must be 10,000 points and subsequent redemptions must be in fixed blocks of 10,000 points.

Note that you must already be a member of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program to be eligible to earn Qantas points with a Suncorp credit card, and Qantas may apply a fee for new members. For further conditions around earning Qantas Frequent Flyer points with either the Suncorp Clear Options Platinum credit card or the Clear Options Business credit card, please refer to the relevant reward program terms and conditions on the Suncorp Bank website.

Other Suncorp Bank credit card frequent flyer options

If you have a Suncorp Bank credit card that earns Suncorp Bank Reward points, you can also choose to transfer your points to the Velocity Frequent Flyer or Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer program. As of 1 May 2016, this program offers a transfer rate of 2.5 Suncorp Bank Reward points for 1 frequent flyer point or mile, with a minimum transfer of 25,000 Suncorp Bank reward points. To make a redemption, log in to your Suncorp Bank Internet account or call Suncorp’s rewards department on 13 11 55.

Suncorp Bank offers two main ways to earn frequent flyer points through its range of rewards credit cards. Now that you know more about these options, you can compare the features of Suncorp Bank reward credit cards to decide if one will suit your needs.
