Milkmaid tops and dresses

The milkmaid look has been popular these last few summers and shows no signs of slowing down. Putting an old school twist on your favourite summer look, these adorable tops and dresses feature puff sleeves, cute ties and square necklines. This style is also incredibly versatile. Dress up your dress with heels and a cute handbag, or pair it with sneakers for a more casual look. Wear the top version with anything from a slip skirt to your favourite pair of jeans.

Where to shop the trend:

Long slip dresses and maxi dresses

Since we're spending this summer in a pandemic, maintaining ultimate comfort levels has never been more important. Here's where the slip and maxi dresses enter. Forgot to apply fake tan? Didn't find the time to shave your legs? Chuck on a basic, coloured or printed maxi dress and you'll look chic as ever, with no effort needed.

Where to shop the trend:

Sneakers

If comfort is what you're after, sneakers are the way to go. If you're looking for an affordable pick, brands like Superga, Converse and adidas are a great place to start – because who doesn't love a plain white sneaker? But if you're keen to step out of your comfort zone and aren't afraid to spend some cash, stores like ASOS and JD Sports have some of the hottest styles.

Where to shop the trend:

Matching sets

A matching set not only saves you time trying to piece different items together, but this trend just so happens to be trans-seasonal. Whether it's hot or cold, you can get your hands on a number of matching set varieties. We're talking singlets and skirts, T-shirts and shorts, jumpers and sweatpants – the possibilities are endless.

Where to shop the trend:

Pastels

This summer is all about colour, in particular, pastel shades of blue, yellow, purple, pink and green. Why do we love this trend so much? It's perfect for summer and it's super inclusive. You can find the shade that suits your skin tone best. Plus, you can rock pastels in cool activewear or on a night out with the girls.

Where to shop the trend:

Colour pop shoes

This trend is an easy one to try. Just swap your black boots or heels for a brightly coloured pair. This is a great transition trend for anyone who isn't confident enough to go all out with a bright pink shirt or a bright blue coat. Bright red shoes are a good place to start, but this season there are green, purple, blue and even yellow shoes to choose from. Pair these with your favourite pair of jeans or add them to an LBD to jazz up your regular outfits.

Where to shop the trend:

Square toe shoes

This shoe trend started creeping in last summer and has held up pretty well ever since. You can shop the square toe in sky high heels, trendy mules or even cute flats. The benefit? This shoe trend is super comfortable, as it gives your toes more room to move. What more could you want?

Where to shop the trend:

Sustainability

That's right, this trend isn't about the aesthetic, but rather how your clothing was made. Sustainability in general, but especially in fashion, is all the rage right now. People are starting to care about the environment, more than they ever have before. Eco-conscious clothing and footwear brands are leading the way, and some of our favourites include VEJA, Dr Martens, Patagonia and Reformation.
