Stussy x Dr Martens

The duo is about to drop an all-new silhouette that you're definitely going to want for your winter wardrobe.

Teaming up with alternative streetwear brand Stüssy once again, footwear label Dr. Martens is set to introduce a brand new silhouette that you're going to want if you're not a big fan of the cold. Titled 8053 HY, the rugged winter-proof shoe is set to drop in just a few days time on each brand's online store.

Release date: 13 December

Price: US$250

Where to buy: Dr. Martens and Stussy

A reimagined version of Dr. Martens' 8053 silhouette, the 8053 HY arrives in two colourways of black and brown. Specially designed for the winter months, the shoes are crafted from a water-resistant leather that repels grit and salt. They also come with a new hybrid PVC/rubber sole called the Wintergrip, which offers open channels to provide additional traction on wintery surfaces, effectively stopping you from slipping and sliding all over the joint.

Each pair also features padded upper collars and a double-stitched heel counter and vamp to keep your feet nice and warm. Mesh lining, durable puritan stitching and hiker laces round out the design.

The kicks are rumoured to be around the US$250 price point, so you might want to get on Santa's good side or make them an early Christmas present to yourself.

The 8053 HYs are not the first collaboration we've seen from Dr. Martens this year. Back in October, the alternative label hooked up with Japanese streetwear brand UNDERCOVER for a take on the classic 1461 silhouette. The two resulting work-appropriate slick lows are still available for sale at Farfetch and End.
