The Boys

Get ready for a fresh take on the superhero saga.

Netflix subscribers can go ahead and clear their schedules this week, because the streaming service is dishing out a smorgasbord of new releases spanning all moods and interests. From digging into the eye-opening Cambridge Analytica scandal in The Great Hack to whipping up tasty treats in season two of Sugar Rush to fighting for survival in the seventh season of the acclaimed Orange Is the New Black, you're sure to find some fresh fancy to feast upon in Netflix's library.

Other Aussie streaming services aren't resting on their laurels, either. The first two seasons of the British thriller series Clique make their way to Stan, while the fifth season of the popular Amazon Prime series Bosch becomes available for free over on SBS On Demand. Foxtel, meanwhile, is courting controversy with the premiere of Lawyer X, a locally-made documentary that tells the tale of Nicola Gobbo, the titular barrister, who simultaneously represented criminals in court while acting as an informant for the Victoria Police.

Amazon Prime Video closes out the week on a high note with the arrival of The Boys. This long-awaited adaptation of the Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson comic book series flips the superhero narrative on its head, imagining a world where the good guys exploit their superpowers for personal wealth and glory. Enter The Boys, a group of gritty vigilantes determined to put an end to superhero corruption by any means necessary.

As always, that's just a sample of the many new releases hitting streaming services this week, so check out all our top picks below.
